GIR NATIONAL PARK is one of the best National Parks, in India, which hosts variey of flora and founa. Gir is also home to one of the largest leopard population, in any part of India, making it an excellent place to see big cats, of different kind. Other wild life is to look out, four horned antelopes, only four horn angulat in the world, Indian Gazel (Chinkara), spotted dear (chital), blue bull (Nil gai), wild boar, wolf hyna, jackel, civet, jungle cat, heir and other mammals found in the forest. The highest population of marsh crocodiles, rock python, monitor lizards are found in the forest. The mix of deciduous forest, grass lands, scrub lands, and water bodies, also makes Gir a good bird watching site, with Palla’s fish eagle, crested serpent eagle, changeable hawk eagle, painted sand grouse, white grouse fantail, asian paradise fly cather, red brested fly cather, tickell’s blue fly cather, mini vet, bush quail, crested hawk eagle, gonnelli’s eagle, shikara hawk, sirkeer, kuckoo and white – neck stork. The main tribe is called Maldhary, who live in scattered settlement called “Nesse’’. There are also, Negro people, who were brought here by Nawab of Junagarh, are of African origine, who speaks, Gujarati, but still maintain African culture to some extent. Special Dhamal Dance, can be arranged on request, which is old traditional folk dance of Sidis ( Negro ). We provide open gypsy up to 7 people, to visit Jungle Safari, in any of the specified routes, during mornings and evenings. Most of the tourists found variety of wild life, during the Safaris. Apart from wild life, the visit of the jungle, it self is great experience for all. We have special arrangements for physically challenged people. |
